Our Music Theory Group Lesson is perfect for students aged 6+ who are new to music theory. Taught by experienced instructors and music professionals, the course follows the ABRSM Music Theory curriculum to equip students with essential music theory knowledge in an interactive group setting, progressing from beginner to advanced levels.

Why Music Theory is Important?

• Enhances Instrumental Learning: Music theory helps you understand the structure and rules of music, which greatly benefits general music appreciation and understanding, as well as, sight-reading and scale components in graded exams.

• Prerequisite for Advanced Exams: Passing the Grade 5 Music Theory exam is a prerequisite for taking graded instrumental exams above Grade 5.

Our classes are tailored to students with different instrument learning background and experience to ensure everyone starts at the same level. We are preparing a beginner course for students with no experience in Music Theory. Those who haven't taken a Grade 1 exam on any instrument (e.g. piano) may need to complete a short prep course before joining the main class or pass an entry test to ensure everyone starts at the same level.
