Music Theory, Singing & Choral Conducting
Florence received her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at San Francisco State University under scholarship, where she was studying choral conducting with Dr. Joshua Habermann, having vocal training with Catherine Cook in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as second principal study. In 2016 Florence obtained a Ph.D. in Musicology and Choral Conducting.
Working in Hong Kong in the past decade, Florence strives for creative presentation in music. In the past few years from 2014-2019, she has been curating concerts of collaborative arts at Le French May art festival. Her choral production was broadcasted by one of the leading classical music channels Mezzo.tv. She has also appeared in performances as a vocalist in both classical and non-classical music events.
As a music educator, she works with music enthusiasts of all ages. She has been teaching singing for 15 years, running music playgroups and worked as conductor at Opera Hong Kong Childrenโs Chorus, the Hong Kong Childrenโs Choir, community choirs, school choirs and churches. Recent years, Florence works for Sutton Music Trust and Pegasus Community Choir.
