πΌ Beginner Music Theory Group Course - Autumn 2024 Class Timetable
We are excited to start our Beginner Music Theory Group Course this autumn and warmly welcome our new music theory and singing teacher, Florence Cheng, to the team!
Class Details:
Schedule: Every Friday from 8 November to 20 December (7 lessons in Term Two) and from 10 January to 14 February (6 lessons in Term Three)
Class Time: 6:30-7:15pm
Lesson Length: 45 minutes per lesson
Teaching Plan: Weβll complete the ABRSM Music Theory Grade 1 exam curriculum in 3β6 months. After this, students can choose whether or not to take the Grade 1 theory exam. You may also re-enrol in the same class after 14th February.

Our Music Theory Group Lesson is perfect for students aged 6+ who are new to music theory lessons. Taught by an experienced instructors and music professionals, the course follows the ABRSM Music Theory curriculum to equip students with essential music theory knowledge in an interactive group setting, progressing from beginner to advanced levels.
Who is this class suitable for?
Our first group course is designed for students with little or no experience in ABRSM Music Theory curriculum but some background in music. If you havenβt taken a Grade 1 exam in any instrument (like piano), you may need to take a short prep course or pass an entry test before 8 November to make sure everyone starts at the same level.
Why Music Theory is Important?
Enhances Instrumental Learning: Music theory helps you understand the structure and rules of music, improves your overall understanding, score reading and scales for exams.
Prerequisite for Advanced Exams: Passing the Grade 5 Music Theory exam is a prerequisite for taking graded instrumental exams above Grade 5.
Scholarship Applications: A qualification in music theory can strengthen your application for music scholarships at schools.
